Analysis and Design Stage

Based on the requirements of each system, the initial schemas were designed by identifying and modelling all the entities and attributes which make up the most of the system in the OpenLDAP directory.

For each sub-system with more than 2 entities involved a Data Flow Diagram and an Entity Relationship Diagram were produced, mapping all the attributes of each entity. The diagrams produced during this stage had to change many times before all the required entities were mapped.

Issues identified during the analysis and design stage required changes in both the requirements and the implementation stages, while problems identified during the testing stage also lead to the re-design of the system.
