Ordering System

The customer lifecycle begins with a new order taking place and the customer filling in a registration form which automatically creates a new customer profile on the system. Because Directory Servers lack support for transactions, the ordering system needs to be developed using a relational database. The system would then import all the data into the OpenLDAP server at times when the server load is low, as all the directory indexes involved will need to be rebuilt.

The following diagram shows the Use Case scenario for the ordering system, detailing the functionality required for the ordering process to successfully complete.
